Singhealth Foundation has been adopted as the beneficiary for

The Little Christmas Hat Project 2008 and 2009.

SingHealth Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, was launched in 2004 to receive contributions and donations for the pursuit of medical research and development, education and training, and the provision of health-related services in Singapore. The Foundation serves as a bridge between the healthcare industry and companies, institutions and like-minded individuals who want to support critical programmes that might otherwise go unfunded. The Foundation’s four focus areas are:

  • CORD BLOOD BANK
The Singapore Cord Blood Bank (SCBB), Singapore’s only public cord blood bank, which officially opened in September 2005, processes and stores cord blood units to provide patients with Leukemia, Lymphoma, Severe Aplastic Anaemia, Thalassemia and numerous other disorders a better chance of finding a life-saving match.

  • UNDERSTANDING PATIENT CARE
Holistic healthcare takes healthcare service one step further, beyond the walls of hospitals. The Foundation works to identify and supplement the needs of patients who may be depleted financially or are unable to afford comprehensive healthcare.
This includes financial assistance for rehabilitative equipment which aids the patient’s rehabilitation and recovery at home.

  • RESEARCH
The Foundation is committed to funding medical research efforts that translate findings into potential cures for patients. An example would be discovering effective ways of early detection and minimally invasive treatment to improve and save lives.

  • EDUCATION
Education broadens local medical expertise and is another key goal of the Foundation as it seeks to update the skills of current and potential healthcare talent. A strong investment in people is fundamental to ensure that healthcare professionals can meet the community’s growing healthcare needs.

  • All donations received by the Foundation go directly to the causes as donations from Singapore Health Services Pte Ltd are sufficient to cover administrative and operating costs incurred by the Foundation.
